Based on the BlueZone philosophy of regular exercise, healthy eating and social engagement we have developed a series of fitness, health and nutrition programmes. These programmes include workplace fitness and well-being, online training, sports fitness and one-to-one personal training.

The BlueZone Fitness programmes, workshops and seminars have been created and developed by experienced personal trainer, Cormac Byrne. Cormac has always had a huge interest in sport and fitness, playing every available sport, from soccer to rugby to athletics. Gaelic football is the sport he achieved the most with, representing his county at every underage level. Currently, he plays Gaelic football for his local club, Coolkenno GAA.

An unfortunate injury at the age of eighteen meant that Cormac spent a prolonged time in hospital. The recovery was long and arduous but he found that training and improved nutrition was very beneficial to the recovery process. This inspired him to get his bachelors degree in sport and health science. He then qualified as a personal trainer with the hope of helping others improve their fitness, ultimately improving their quality of life.
Cormac explains that implementing a nutrition plan is hugely important, whether a client is trying to lose weight, build muscle or simply increase fitness levels.

“It is important that a client has a nutrition plan that fits their caloric needs but also fits their lifestyle. There are 168 hours in a week. I might only see a client for 2, 3 or 4 of those hours. It’s important that a client has a realistic nutrition plan that they are happy with and that they can adhere to. There are no quick fixes when it comes to diet.”
